山梨県甲府市生まれ。代々宝飾業を営む環境に育つ。既存のジュエリーに飽き足らず自分用にデザインしたことから次第にジュエリープロデュースの道に入る。天然石を中心とした個性的なジュエリーを創作。
国内外で個展を中心に活動。そのアーティスティックな感性は海外でも評価される。
ミュンヘン・インホルゲンタショー、香港ショーなど世界各地の国際ジュエリーショーには毎年勉強と仕入れに赴く。甲府のアトリエにては常時作品展示、年2回新作展開催。
Shimada Setsuko was born in Kofu, Yamanashi-ken, the heart of jewelry industry in Japan. Her family is the one of the oldest jewelry house in Kofu, which the history of the company can date back 120 years.
Shimada began designing jewelry simply because she could not find jewelry she wanted to wear.
Shimada shows her creativity and sense of beauty by setting and selecting unique gemstones. Her jewelry collection can be seen at solo exhibitions and jewelry trade shows held in the world.
